DescriptionThe first General Manager of the Industries was Charles Bouvin, appointed in 1924, assisted by HC Crohill (Business Manager from 19 19) . Charles Bouvin died in 1929 and was succeeded by Ernest Rice who died in 1934. Bertram Tallyn, who had been General Manager at Enham returned to Papworth to manage the Industries at both Settlements, assisted by AV Grogan [known as ‘Paddy’ Grogan] and become Managing Director from 1949 until his retirement in 1964 [information from Frank Jordan].
