TitlePublicity and Appeals Department: Cine Film and Videos
DescriptionCine film including documentary films about Papworth Village Settlement and fictional films shot at Papworth for fundraising appeals.

Labels on the cans of safety film listed below refer to cans of original 35mm nitrate film (nos. 1-6, 8, 10, 13-14, 15-18, 20, 21-22, 24, 26 and 27). The film, and 18 other cans, were deposited at the National Film Archive by Frank Jordan because of the hazardous nature of nitrate film. In a report of the film made at the time by Jane Alvey of the East Anglian Film Archive, some of the reels are described as having decomposed so that there would be no possibility of copying them. The National Film Archive took the decision to destroy some of this film. A detailed list of the 35mm nitrate film was made by Jane and is retained in the Record Office's administrative files. The National Film Archive retains the following nitrate films: Papworth Hall, Cambridge, The Story of Papworth, It Might Be You! and Royal Visits to Papworth, Lest We Forget (appeal film for Enham Village Centre, Its Up To You (appeal film for Great Ormond Street Hospital), You and Your Money (propaganda film against cinema tax), United Nations Day (promotional film for the United Nations) and Keep the Roads Clear (Wartime film on importance of keeping roads clear).
The descriptions of the films given below are taken from Jane's list of records deposited at the Record Office in 1988.
