DescriptionThe first Secretary of the Settlement was Tommy Johnson (d. 1954) who had started work with Sir Pendrill Varrier-Jones at Bourn. RH Hale succeeded as joint Secretary to the Settlement and Hospital in 1954 until 1964 when he was appointed full-time Secretary to the East Anglian Hospital Board. EC Westley succeeded as Secretary to the Settlement from 1964.
