DescriptionA bound MS volume, containing:
1. Extracts from Huntingdon Borough Charters relating to the rights, duties and privileges of mayor and Burgesses.
2. Lists of lands, rents and revenues belonging to the Borough, and to the Hospitals of St John and St Margaret.
3. Manner of holding Courts of Pleas, Sessions and Leet, and other matters concerning the office of Mayor.
The date of composition is given as 1700 and much of the material is acknowledged to be taken from an earlier work by Sir Robert Bernard, Serjeant-at-law, Recorder of Huntingdon. It appears to have been intended as a Mayor's reference, or guide book. The author is not given, but he may have been Henry Sweeting. A few additions relating to charities are made in a later hand.
