DescriptionLetter tipped inside book from Robert Fox, Godmanchester to J[ohn] Caley Esq. F.S.A., enclosing a copy of his 'History of Godmanchester', asks him to procure his election as a F.A.S. The nomination would be seconded by William Watson of Wisbech and my Lord Milton. He thanks him for his advice and assistance in the compilation of his 'History of Godmanchester' whi is before the County. He is now occupied on the History of the County of Huntingdon - upon a large scale- the present histories being altogether far too superficial and in no manner illustrated by theose important Inquests Escheats etc whiy you have been so mainly instumental in connection with the Record Commissioners, in laying open to the public, 6 Feb. 1832
