TitleLetter patent of King Edward VI
DescriptionThis letter patent reproduces the text of, and confirms the grants made within, the letter patent of Henry VIII, 1515 (HB1/1/9). The initial letter depicts the King, then aged thirteen. This charter is sealed with the Seal of the Duchy of Lancaster, rather than the Great Seal, as the Duchy received the fee farm rent for the borough.
