Description | This letter patent reproduces the text of, and confirms the grants made within, the letter patent of Henry VI, 1424 (HB1/1/6) and the letter patent of Edward IV, 1467, which otherwise does not survive. The document is endorsed as having been enrolled in the Memoranda of the Exchequer during Michaelmas of the ninth year of Henry VIII (1517). The 1467 letter patent inspects and confirms an earlier charter granted by Queen Elizabeth Woodville, wife of Edward IV, in which she reduces the fee farm rent by 40 shillings per year. |
