TitleBundle of 12 letters
DescriptionLetters to the Countess of Sandwich, Dover Street, London, from her son, the 7th Earl, George Frederick Maule and W.H. Fellowes. These cover the county election from before the poll to the chairing of the successful candidates, John Bonfoy and Lord Mandeville. At the request of Lady Sandwich, Fellowes agrees to support Lord Strathavon's candidature, because he is not a thorough going reformer. Maule and Lord Sandwich complain that the Kimbolton Interest will not support Lord Strathavon and that this has caused him to lose his seat to the far more radical Rooper. Their letters also mention the Huntingdon Borough election and the elections in the County of Cambridge, Cambridge University and Winchester. Lord Sandwich also speculates on his own future after he has left Cambridge University.
