1st Letter: Received letter of her last attack, try to get La Croix can get her some marsella (strong white wine). Arrived Friday to find little had been done, chapel still in the same state he left it. Servants very uncomfortable, Mrs Hunt has a nurse who rules the whole family and her relations are coach man (?). Thinks they are a complete clan and cannot bear Elizabeth to be head of the house so they make mischief. Encourages her to exercise more. Met with his father this morning, remember them all. Mentions the Crottly cousins from the Parish of Birr. Loneliness of coming to this place without his family. Dr Chambers has prescribed Henbane and Camphor for his nerves. De Jaucourt asking, former Governess to Mrs Kedd, asks to recommend a situation Letter from Susan regarding delight at Rampley's marriage, note from Clara More. Lost court case against Lyle which "will rather cripple our efforts dear".

2nd Letter: From H. Porter on the 8th March, Lord Mandeville has arrived and looks well, change of scene will do him much service, gives him lots of letters to send. Enjoys Lord Mandervilles company, sat and prayed together. Lady Mandeville will soon be informed of the resolution of Lord Lieutenant of Derry and magistrates regarding Mr.Jones "who has been such an enemy for our Party", an investigation likely to lead to Jones dismissal. Shall send copy of of an address to Brendirs Cousin, signed by 1,777 of the tenants whose gratitude is marked in their expression of their feelings. Rev.C.Boyton is a father, the baby was born at Lady M.Stewarts. Ends with a funny question "For Kim and Bob with my love 'why was the elephant the last animal that came out of the ark' (no one must assist the boy...and send the answer in the next letter"
