DescriptionAn extract in 'Court and Society…' reflects very injuriously on his family. He does not wish to enter into the question of whether his ancestor was legitimate, or on his own claim to the Earldom of Banbury. The Duke asserts in the book that his ancestor, the 4th Earl, was a bigamist but this was not true and may damage his own claim.
