DescriptionMandeville's letter has removed the forebodings of unpleasantness in his mind and suspicions that their sister Live [Olivia] has caused mischief or any misinterpretation of Louise's actions. Lady S wanted him to marry Miss Heneage, saying she would be a good mother to his children, so he had to tell her that his affections were engaged elsewhere or risk spoiling his chances with Lady B. Lady S has now dropped innuendos everywhere but insists she has given out no names. The blame must lie with himself though.
