TitleLetter from J. M. Heathcote, Conington Castle, to the Duke of Manchester
DescriptionHe is pleased to hear the Duke will be present at the special meeting on the 17th. He is certain that the proposals will lead to the bankruptcy of their association. They are at present in a more satisfactory condition than similar cattle insurance associations in other counties and he believes there is enough to conmpensate the insurers for cattle that have died or been slaughtered by order of the Inspector so far. His own experiences lead him to think they will struggle if the disease spreads.
