TitleDraft letter to Lady Olivia Bernard Sparrow, from her daughter, Millicent Sparrow
DescriptionPresumably written in response to M10/4/15. She has sought guidance from God before replying but has to say that she does not agree with her mother altogether. She has a duty to seek a companion in life. She is no longer a child hopes a partner will give her the stability and firmness that she knows she lacks now. Only then will the power of religion be truly exemplified. She does not know anyone in their religious society who would be suitable and she does not have many opportunities to meet people at assemblies, especially when she must leave so early. She does not enjoy going to these places where "I see a frivolity, or a system of deception, and an acting which wearies me..." but thinks that they are necessary for now. After tomorrow nighe she shall abide strictly by her mother's opinion.
