Title	Letter to the Duke of Manchester, from Lord Dalhousie, Government House, Calcutta [India]
Description	On his recent arrival in Calcutta he was informed by Dr Chalmers that the Duke's son, Lord Frederick, had been arrested for debt. If it wasn't for the discredit it would cause his family he would have let him to go to gaol as he deserved but Fred is in a weak state and remaining here would have been certain death. He has now bound himself for the money and begs the Duke will arrange payment of the debts as soon as he receives this letter. Fred should arrive in England in July.
