DescriptionHe has heard from Mrs Reay at Sydney, the widow of a clergyman, who has asked for his assistance in getting back £50 advanced to her by the late Lord Frederick Montagu. He encloses copies of: letter to the Duke from M. Reay, Sydney [Australia] informing him that Albemarle Layard has been unable to get the letters of administration necessary to finalise the estate of Lord Montagu so she is still owed £50 (29 May 1855); extract from a letter from Mrs. Reay, describing the circumstances under which she lent the money to Lord Montagu (c.1855); copy letter from Harriet Eld, Sydney [Australia], a witness to the transaction (1855).
