Description	[Written shortly after Mandeville gave up his seat in Parliament, following the death of his father]. The Duke has had to transact so much business, receive so many letters, since this great change in his life took place. A 'selfish feeling' that he has now been deprived of a rare companion, to whom he has entrusted so much. "I look in vain for another in whom I shall find so many valuable talents..."
