TitleLetter to the Duchess of Manchester, from her son, Viscount Mandeville
DescriptionHe would not wish to implicate her by sending her letter to Mr Cloete. The letter he did send made no mention of the Maitlands. He has not heard from Lord P and Lady Sarah since he left the Cape. The misconception is due to Brownlow Maitland[?] who took an unaccountable dislike to him. Please thank Lady Sarah for her kindness and express his regret at the trouble this has caused. Nobody knows whether Lord John will form a ministry or whether Sir Robert will come in again [followed by discussion of Parliamentary matters].
