TitleLetter to Millicent, Duchess of Manchester, from Henry John Porter, Tandragee Castle, steward
DescriptionHe is distressed that she may think he has been complaining of not being comfortable or wanting more staff. Mrs Shepherd's removal was in consequence of the Duke believing that she drank more than was necessary, with which the Aldons' party agreed, though he never saw it. He agrees that it is better to have fewer unnecessary servants at Tandragee, and to bring them over from Kimbolton when needed. Discusses Lord Frederick's 'distressing' visit to Normandy and Paris with Hawtrey, and Lord Mandeville's parliamentary plans. Building works at Tandragee, with handrawn floor plan.
