Description | He has returned from Exeter Hall where he was staying with the Steeles and the three Calcroft girls. He is glad Aunt Caroline is going to Kimbolton and hopes the girls will go too, especially Catty - "she is such a nice girl and a very handsome one too." Followed by an account of his battalion's movements during the recent Chartist disturbances in London. He is about to go out canvassing. He believes he is certain to get in. |
