Reciting: purchase of estate by Katherine Duchess of Buckinghamshire and Normanby, widow, from (i) in 1723, part of which estate had been mortgaged by Charles Duke of Manchester in 1685 to John Ashton, who has since been executed for High Treason and his interest forfeited to the Crown. The mortgaged premises and money due were granted by the Crown to Robert Manning of St Martins in the Fields [London] in trust for Charles Duke of Manchester.

Reciting also one James Arnaud[?] who 'did pretend to be entitled ... by virtue of a pretended assignment from the said John Ashton.' The Court of Exhequor agreed that £6000 should remain with the late Duke of Buckinghamshire's trustees to protect the purchased estate from a future claim and that the lands hereinafter mentioned should stand security to (i) for the payment of the sum.

£2000, late part of the marriage portion of Isabella Duchess of Manchester, wife of (i).

Property: various farms, fields and closes including Abchill Park, Old Park and Lawn Hall or Lawn Hall Farm in the parishes of Much Waltham, Barnston, Dunmow, Plushy, High Easton [Essex].
