TitleThe Reverend Ripley's Carriage
DescriptionThe carriage of the Reverend Ripley is drawn up outside a house, with two children and a lady sitting behind the driver of the carriage. A man and a young boy stand beside the carriage. The Reverend John Nottidge Ripley was Vicar of Hartford parish from 1870 - 1880. The next glass plate is of the Reverend Ripley's servants, and is dated June 1880 (as is WH3/1175a), so it is possible that this photograph was taken at the same time. Could it have been taken when the Reverend Ripley moved from the parish, as a reminder of his time in Hartford?
