TitleMr James Ashton's House.
DescriptionThis image shows the rear of an ivy-covered house, with its ornamental garden and statues. Two people, a lady and a gentleman, are sitting in the garden. The original list to this collection described this as Mr Ashton's House, and indeed the words "Mr Jas Ashtons House 1340 [534 crossed out]" is written on the glass plate. However, the Maddison & Hinde order book shows that image 1340 was of "Cawcutt's House, Brampton", and image 534 was of "Mann's Mr House Buckden". It may be any of these houses, and as yet this house is unidentified
