TitleLivett Wedding Group
DescriptionIt had been suggested on the old list to the Whitney collection that this is possibly the wedding group at the marriageof William James Levitt and Mary M Robinson, which took place on the 17th January 1893 at Hemingford Abbots, but the surname Livett and not Levitt is clearly written on the glass plate and is in the Maddison & Hinde order book. There are many Livett marriages during the 1880s and 1890s in the Huntingdon district, and this group has not been definitely identified. According to the 1890 trade directory, a William Livett, beer retailer and book maker, lived in Great Northern Street, Huntingdon, but this house behind this groupdoes not quite look as though it is in this Huntingdon street. This plate is similar to WH3/1529A, but here we have a better view of the house behind the group
