DescriptionThe garden and studio of Mr Arthur Maddison at 74-75 Ermine Street, Huntingdon. Arthur Maddison married Julia Hinde (nee Chancellor), widow of Michael Hinde, plumber of Bedford in 1874 , and in the same year he purchased 74-75 Ermine Street and set up his new studio here. This is a view of the large garden behind the Ermine Street frontage, with the studio at the side. Some members of the family are sitting around a table, while others are on the lawn, which has a fountain in the centre. Note the caged bird is in front of the studio.
