TitleStaff of Brown and Goodman's Mill, Godmanchester
DescriptionGroup of staff outside Brown and Goodman's mill, which stood near the river bridge in Godmanchester. This steam four mill was built in 1861 by Potto Brown and Joseph Goodman, millers of Houghton, and was opened in 1862. The building was eight storeys high, lit by electricity and equipped with the most modern type of roller machinery producing the very finest grades of flour. A siding of the Great Eastern Railway ran alongside allowing flour to be dispatched all over the country. The building was demolished in 1969.
