TitlePaine and Co.'s Fire, St Neots.
DescriptionWorkers standing in the debris in the aftermath of a fire at Paine's Brewery, Market Hill St Neots. According to the Hunts Post, the fire had gutted the buildings, and led to St Neots Urban District Council paying for a modern steam fire engine to cope with large fires. Ironically, another fire occurred in the mill just four years later, when the mill was burnt to the ground at the height of its busy season in 1909. The fire smouldered for days after the blaze
