| Description | The Hunts Post of 1910 regularly reported on the flying exploits of Mr James Radley and his colleagues on Portholme Meadow. On the 9th April 1910 it carried a report on Huntingdon Aeroplanes: "Mr James Radley, whose arrival with his Bleriot monoplane we announced last week, up to the present had not attempted to make a trial flight. The machine, the lines of which very much resemble a huge dragon fly, was put together on Friday morning and wheeled on to Portholme for the purpose of being photographed." Presumably this and the other three photographs were the ones taken by Frederick Hinde on that day.
The article continues - "A well known flying man, Mr R.F. Macfie, arrived in Huntingdon on Wednesday. He informs us it is his intention to bring down two machines of the monoplane and bi-plane type. Mr Macfie is accompanied by Mr Franklin, a well known agent for flying machines.....Mr Macfie was loud in his praise of Portholme as a flying ground..."
This image shows Mr Radley sitting in his monoplane, with a large crowd of onlookers crowding around the plane. The two men standing beside the plane may be Mr Macfie and Mr Franklin.
