DescriptionThe front elevation of Houghton Manor House, which was occupied by Lieutenant Colonel Charles Hamilton Raymond Pelly, R.A. in 1910. He was born in London in 1867, son of Charles Raymond Pelly of Eastbourne. He joined the 3rd Brigade Cinque Ports Division Royal Artillery in 1888, and transferred to the General Reserve of Officers on the reduction of the RA in 1908. Married Mary Elizabeth, daughter of the Reverend Edward Middup, and widow of Captain Trehewitt of the Colonial Forces in 1997. Taken from Northants and Huntingdonshire Contemporary Biographies ed.
