TitleUnidentified Stone-Laying Ceremony
DescriptionAn unidentified stone-laying ceremony. A crowd has gathered to observe the ceremony, and a horse and carriage stands in the foreground of the photograph.
This is a late emulsion, and may have been taken by the Hinde & Carpenter Studio in Bedford, as no record of such a ceremony can be found in the Huntingdon Maddison & Hinde order book. The number 469 has been scratched on the plate, but number 469 in the order book is an 1860s photograph of a hunting scene at Kimbolton Castle.
