DescriptionA group of Red Cross Nurses and Patients. "Scott Gatty group" is written on the glass plate. Mrs Scott-Gatty was "an indefatigable fundraiser" during the First World War, and raised funds for the VAD Hospital which moved into Walden House, Huntingdon, from Brunswick House, opposite the County Hospital on Brampton Road, in December 1914. By the time the hospital had closed in January 1919, 3,900 men had passed through the hospital (See Huntingdon:Eight Centuries of History by Alan Akeroyd and Caroline Clifford, pp.80-81)
