TitleDeeds of Property in Haddenham
DescriptionThe surname Cornwallis has been regularised throughout from the stated spelling, which is usually Cornewalys or Cornewallys. Most of the deeds were subsequently endorsed with the later spelling, around which time it appears they were also numbered and some dated by year. These numbers have been recorded in the descriptions below, with the endorsed date if it appears to be incorrect. Surnames other than Cornwallis and most field names have been left as they appear in the original deeds. Christian names and village names have been translated into their modern English form, with the exception of 'Hille' or 'Hylle' which refers to Hillrow, a hamlet in the parish of Haddenham. All deeds are in Latin
