DescriptionProfessor Thomas McKenny Hughes (1833-1917), of Trinity College, Cambridge, was trainer of geologists on several Antarctic Expeditions. He was awarded the Lyell Medal of the Geological Society, 1891, and was President of the Philosophical Society, 1892.
