DescriptionA group founded in 1884 at the suggestion of Professor Henry Fawcett to give support to the Bill going through Parliament. The group played an active role, organising petitions and putting up women as candidates for local positions, Boards of Guardians etc. The first secretary of the Cambridge Association was Miss Bateson; there was no President initially. This organisation included male members and many married couples subscribed jointly.
