DescriptionBundles of letters and other documents relating almost wholly to the period during which Captain John Tharp was committee for John Tharp, his nephew, first when the latter was a minor and later a lunatic. These letters are addressed to Captain John Tharp unless otherwise stated. They relate particularly to the administration of the Tharp estates but there are also many concerned with family affairs. Most of these letters have been kept in their original bundles.
