In the middle of the book: Extract from the probate of John Mean of Hatley St. George, dated 22 April 1769 bequeathing £40 to the Minister and churchwardens of Gamlingay, the interest to be applied to the teaching of poor children of the parish. 22 March 1770. Memorandum by I.B. James, Vicar, that on his entry in the parish only £20 of the above bequest remained, and was eventually placed towards the cost of building the new school. (He was Rector and Vicar from 1847 to 1878)
At the beginning of the burials: Copy obituary of Henry Tindall, B.D., Warden of Merton College, Oxford, who died in 1545 and was buried in Gamlingay Church. Signed R. Hepworth, Vicar.
