DescriptionMean bequeathes £40 a year after his death to the minister and churchwardens of Gamlingay on trust, the interest to be applied to teaching poor children of the parish to read. The Charity Commissioners Report, 1839, states that the £40 was reduced to £20 by the insolvency of the individual to whom the sum was lent: see Rev. James' memorandum in P76/1/3.
