TitleMilitia lists The 1757 Militia Act (30 Geo II c.25) introduced the balloting of men into militia regiments. Annual lists were drawn up by the constables of all men in their parish between the ages of 18 and 50. No 18th century lists appear to have survived for Ely and South Witchford.
