DescriptionLady Darwin was Branch Chairman for the first period followed by Mrs. Rootham and Mrs. Keynes. The branch concerned itself with a Housing Scheme - to purchase suitable houses for conversion into flats for single ladies, the possibility of lodging houses for women, careers for secondary schoolgirls in industry and commerce, and slum clearance. Branch members were more frequently representatives on local government and hospital committees. Attached are a typewritten article and newspaper cutting on film censorship 1934, an article against the use of alcohol 1932, and a resolution concerning pre-nursing examinations to be taken at school, 1933.
