DescriptionThis volume contains minutes of fewer meetings than in previous years. Among other topics, the minutes reported an application to Cambridge Town Council for a grant from the Fund for Technical Education (£100 awarded conditionally on the appointment of 2 members of the governing body from the Town Council). Courses expanded to include building construction, modelling and design with reference to woodworking and needlework. The position of ladies, both on Committees of the School of Art and as students, was much discussed. The Master wished to have a female nude model for the advanced class, and this was agreed as long as strict conditions were met. As pupils were now instructed in drawing at the Technical Institute there was a loss of income to the School of Art. The relation between the School of Art and the Technical Institute was much discussed, initially by subcommittees from the School of Art and the Town Council.
