DescriptionThis subseries comprises log books for the Cambridge Higher Grade School, the Central Council School, and Grammar School for boys. This is because in 1913 management of the Higher Grade School passed to the Borough Council and the pupils were transferred to new premises at Melbourne Place. In 1919 the school became the Central Council School. In 1953 the Central school became a technical school and in 1956 it became the Cambridge Grammar School for boys.

Log books were kept by the head teacher and recorded details such as changes and absence of staff, visits of managers, changes in courses and facilities, significant events and circumstances affecting the school.
