In 1950 parents started meeting in order to choose a representative for the governing body. The Parent-Teacher Association was set up officially in 1953 and helped support the school by raising funds for the following: tuck shop, swimming pool, academic prizes, travel bursaries, musical instruments, and equipment for sports and drama.
