TitleChatteris, Burnsfield Primary School (formerly Burnsfield Infants School)
DescriptionBurnsfield School was built in 1953 as a two form entry school for children aged five to seven. Students were drawn primarily from two closing infants schools, Hive End and Slade End. The new school was situated at the end of Burnsfield Street and Miss F. Genner was appointed the first Head Teacher.

Burnsfield School shared some of its facilities with nearby King Edward School including kitchen facilities. Gradually more King Edward buildings were added to the Burnsfield site and a joint board of Governors' was established to administer the Chatteris Primary Schools. This structure continued until 2000 when a separate Board of Governors was created for each school. In 2003 Burnsfield Primary School and King Edward Junior School merged to form the new Kingsfield School.

Though several of the Burnsfield School classrooms were demolished following the merger due to structural deficiencies, the hall was converted to a dining room at Kingsfield.
