Recites will of James Northfield, late of Harston, carpenter (died October 1838). Copyhold estate held of manor of Harlston Shadworth, Harston, Cambridgeshire, to son James Northfield above but subject to annuity of £20 pa to 2.; 1. executors and trustees for sale. Made 24 September 1838. Proved pcc 1 February 1839. Auctioned as lot 1 9 July 1839. Messuage and public house on the Green, Harston, Cambridgeshire, called 'Waggon and Horses' with barns, stables, outbuildings, yards and gardens, adj as are now in occupation of Thomas Tuck (above buildings were erected on an allotment described on the manor court rolls as that piece of land or ground on the Green in Harston) (2a 1r 39p). Abuts N allotment of land, then late of Thomas Samuel and then of Kidman Watson, E and S allotments to James Northfield above, W Turnpike Road. (James Northfield admitted tenant on surrender of James Beard 4 January 1819). CONSIDERATION £425 5s 0d paid by 3. to 1. and 2. Witnesses W.H. Nash of Royston, solicitor; John Northfield of Harston, Cambridgeshire. Marked in pencil on dorse of 'No 1'.
