| Title | 2 Letters; John Lawrence, St. Ives, to David Veasey Esq., and the 7th Earl of Sandwich. |
| Description | Concerning his being allowed to study various papers in the Allfarthing Case. Also mentions the suggestions of Mr. Woollam's Attorney about the amount of fee farm rent payable by the owners of the Mills at St. Albans. The Case of Priscilla Adnam against Rt. Hon John William, 7th Earl of Sandwich. This was an Action of Replevin which afterwards turned into a Special Case by consent of both parties in the Queen's Bench. It originated in a dispute between Lord Sandwich and the Earl of Craven over the amount to be deducted for Land Tax from the Fee Farm Rents payable from the Manor of Sutton Courtney, co. Berkshire. Investigations revealed that Lord Craven had long been paying the Fee Farm Rents for property he no longer owned. Lord Sandwich then sought the rent from the current owner of the property, Miss Pricilla Adnam, and the Action of Replevin ensued. |
