| Title | Letter from Mr Loftie, Tandragee, to Viscountess Mandeville [Millicent] |
| Description | Had deferred writing to his Ladyship until he could inform her of the arrival of the furniture from London to Tandragee. Lists an inventory of furniture. One chest of draws has not arrived and supposes it is in Belfast. Has put a cabinet in the drawing room as it was too large for the hall. Is glad she likes the eggs and butter, Mrs.L is collecting eggs for the next consignment and keeping them in lime water to preserve them. English is our only hope against the papists infidels. Believes the boys would find this air agreeable to them. Hopes Lord Mandeville and Lord Winchilsea will fight the battle "inch by inch". Recommends reading a book called 'Christian Retirement by a Layman'. |
