Description(1) Sir Thomas Cotton, Connington, Bart. (2) Dame Elizabeth Cotton, widow, late wife of Sir Robt. C., late of Conington, Kt. and Bart. decd., father of (1) John Midlemore, Midle Temple, London, Esq. William Fitton, London, gent. For an estate to be made to Dame Eliz. Cotton for her life of certain closes, meadows and pastures later named in lieu of jointure and so that (1) may settle an absolute estate to him and his heirs in Manor of Conington with apps. whereby he may dispose of the same at his pleasure. (1) agrees with (2) before next Michaelmas by fine or other deed of further assurance to convey Manor of Conington and Advowson of Church there and all apps. in Conington to Middlemore and Fitton and their heirs for ever to their use so that they may be tenants to suffer a Common Recovery with Rt. Hon. Edw. Lord Montague of Broughton, Northants, and Sir Basil Brooke, Madeley Court, Salop, Kt. as querens and Sir Thomas C. as vouchee - to the following uses: Caves Field (220a); The Long Hides, The Little Ayle, The Oate Close (140a); Atte Walke (120a); The Ulternesse (80a). All in Conington for said Elizabeth for life then to (1) and heirs for ever. Rest of Manor of Conington and Advowson there to (1) and heirs for ever. Usual Covenants.
