Description1. Rt. Hon. John, 4th Earl of Sandwich 2. Rt. Hon. Charles Lord Viscount Fane, Baron of Loughgur in the kingdom of Ireland, and Hon. Dorothy Fane, one of his daughters, spinster. 3. Edward Montagu of the p. of St. George Hanover Square, co. Middlesex, Esq., and James Pearse of Warfield, co. Berkshire, Esq. Recites: 1) The intended marriage between 1. and Dorothy Fane 2. Under the Marriage Settlement of her parents, Dorothy Fane is entitled to £1,500 as one of the younger children of the marriage. Now for the above sum of £1,500 and a further sum of £2,500 by Lord Viscount Fane to 3. for the marriage portion of his daughter 1. demises to 3 for the term of 99 years. The Fee Farm Rents from various manors in cos. Somerset and Buckingham (further described), amounting together to £608.17.0¾. Upon trust that 3. permit 1. to receive the rents during his life and after his death that they permit Dorothy Fane to receive the rents during the rest of her life. Also 1. agrees to convey to 3. His messuage on the westside of Dover Street in the p. of St. Martin in the Fields and St. James within the Liberty of Westminster, co. Middlesex, late of Elizabeth Lady Hinchingbrooke, together with a garden and several pieces of ground (further described). To the use of 1 for his life and then to the use of the younger children of his marriage to Dorothy Fane. Also 1 agrees with 3 that if his grandmother, Elizabeth Countess Dowager of Sandwich, dies before him and if his wife, the now Dorothy Fane, survives him, then she shall be permitted to hold for her life such parts of the site of the late Priory of Huntingdon, the manors of St. Neots, Hinchingbrooke, Little Ravely, Little Stukeley, Eynesbury, the Advowson of the parish church of Eynesbury, the Hundred of Hurstingstone, the manor of Brampton and lands etc. in Huntingdon, Godmanchester, Brampton, Great Stewkley, Hertford, St. Neots Wintringham, Bargrave, Hardwick Field, Caldecott near St. Neots, Greensbury, Mulshoe Close, Middle Hawe, Paxton Magna, Paxton Parva, Buckworth, Wereshley, Offord Darcy, Halliweston, Southoe, Hinchingbrooke, Little Raveley, Little Stewkley, Alconbury, Hurstington, Wistow, Middlemore Fenn, Eynesbury, Fordham, Eaton, Wilbaston, Devillhode, Collesdon and Begory, cos. Huntingdon and Bedford, now in Jointure to his grandmother for life by virtue of a Settlement of 14th August, 1691, as shall be of the yearly value of £400. On her death, the land etc., will descend to their sons in tail male. 3 To hold the Marriage Portion of £4,000 upon trust, after the marriage to pay £1,000 to 1. and to invest the remaining £3,000 and pay the interest from it to Dorothy Fane: after the deaths of 1. and Dorothy Fane, upon trust to assign the £3,000 to the younger children of the marriage.
