DescriptionAcknowledges receipt of his letter of 6th July, on the subject of the claim preferred by Captain Cameron, late Adjutant of the Battalion, to allowances for acting as Paymaster and Quarter Master. The Secretary of State for War had no authority to sanction the issue of these Allowances beyond a certain date, and he is not prepared to make application to the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury for a revival of the authority in question. Attached: 3 sheets of notes, giving Cameron's case.
