|Letter; T. Wright Vaughan, Knightsbridge, to 7th Earl of Sandwich.
|Discusses the difficulty of finding suitable men willing to serve as officers in the Militia. The difficulty arises because of the long peace and because the county families are now a good deal dispersed. Puts forward the names of some families which might supply officers. Seeks the Earl's judgment on whether Charles Sherard is eligible to be an Ensign.
