TitleLetter; J.G. Greene, London, to 7th Earl of Sandwich.
DescriptionHas been assured by the Ordnance Office that the clothing, shoes and arms are in a state of forwardness, and that they will be sent to Head Quarters as soon as possible. Seems doubtful if the accoutrements will be ready for the forthcoming training. Has been assured by Prater that the shirts will be ready in time. Has ordered a handsome set of accountrements from Cater. Has forwarded the requisition for 9 drill instructors and 3 Bugles to the War Office. Has enrolled and attested the 3 men wanted to complete the full quota of 184 men. Is getting anxious about staff serjeants; Latham has not yet arrived. Has arranged for the men to be at Head Quarters at 9am on the 26th: they will wash at the Fountain Inn. Has prepared notices of tenders to be sent in for bread and meat.
